Irina Kulik: “History of Foreign Contemporary Art”

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the main directions and key figures of modernism, historical avant-garde and contemporary art, to explain how the system of artistic values ​​changed with the inception of modernism (the second half of the 19th century).

The course will give an idea of ​​what a work is, what is the purpose of the artist and the role of the viewer, will reveal the history of art not as a change in styles and aesthetics, but as a history of ideas, created in a polemical and partner dialogue between artists of different generations and beliefs.
