Irina Kulik: “History of Foreign Contemporary Art”
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the main directions and key figures of modernism, historical avant-garde and contemporary art, to explain how the system of artistic values changed with the inception of modernism (the second half of the 19th century).
The course will give an idea of what a work is, what is the purpose of the artist and the role of the viewer, will reveal the history of art not as a change in styles and aesthetics, but as a history of ideas, created in a polemical and partner dialogue between artists of different generations and beliefs.
